In a bizarre crossover event that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Disclosed

According to the official release, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous transformations echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.

The questline focuses on "strange experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Changes

The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana together with numerous objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Latest Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery."
